False promotion: Good or bad idea?

Here is the transcript of the video:

Welcome to the I'm displaying Complete ! The channel dedicated to helping accommodation managers and seasonal rental companies become serene and ultra-profitable ! Today I want to address a topic: fake promotions .

So, no. It's completely illegal. It is prohibited to inflate prices and then apply a promotion. The rule is clear: the price displayed must be the lowest charged during the last 30 days preceding this offer. For example, if your lowest price is €50, the promotion must be less than €50.

Then, this absolutely does not improve your visibility on the platforms. Applying promotions at overestimated prices will not favor you on Booking or Airbnb. If you offer a promotion at too high a price, you will stay out of the market and your chances of a sale will be reduced. Our advice is therefore to position yourself at the market price without promotion. If you still want to offer them, try targeting unusual customers. For example, by offering promotions for longer stays, thus attracting customers looking for duration. You can also offer mobile promotions, often interesting for those booking at the last minute, or geolocated offers to attract European or even international customers.
