The entrepreneur.e mind: behind the scenes of the Create your own success podcast, the genesis of the professional meeting

Here is a transcript of the video:

Elise: Hello friends! I'm so happy to have you back for something a little out of the ordinary. We will meet Marie who is an expert in marketing and branding . We have the chance to work with Marie at J'annonce Complet . Today, she is launching her podcast called The Entrepreneur.e Mind . I think that's it, she will confirm it for us. I hope I don't talk nonsense to you. I am very honored to be the first interview she will do on her podcast. Come with me, it's going to be a great experience. In any case, I can't wait. I think it's going to be really cool. You will see the backstage and we will give you the link to listen to Marie's podcast if you wish.

Hi Marie, are you okay?

Marie: Can I get you something to drink?

Elise: Oh yeah, I do. I'm thirsty.

Marie: Hello everyone! My name is Marie and I have been in branding since 2007. I am one of the internet dinosaurs. Basically, I am in the shadow of brands and entrepreneurs. I wanted to create this podcast because what really interested me was understanding what decisions entrepreneurs made to make their companies work. Sometimes a single decision can be a game-changer for the entire life of a business. It’s this famous decision and this split second that interests me, the moment when everything changed. I decided to do this podcast to highlight entrepreneurs who, at some point in their lives, have taken a bias. I have a hard time with companies that do everything. I'm passionate about people who are specialists in something, very passionate about what they do. They have the courage to put everything in place. It gives them a lot of expertise and courage. I wanted to highlight and highlight the people I meet on a daily basis, with whom I work or could possibly work. This will show you the path they took, even if, from the start, they didn't know they were going to achieve this success.

Elise: I noticed that there is something we hear everywhere. It's really about dreaming something and taking it seriously. I told myself that while creating the event I was missing. At J'show Complet , we work with all segments of seasonal rental. There was no event that brought together all segments of vacation rentals. I could see that in other professions, there were events: the bakers' event, the winegrowers' event, etc. In the seasonal rental, there was nothing. I thought it would be crazy. I was already imagining the thing and I said to myself: “What’s the action plan? ". We are a company that has existed for 3 years, only in France. We were the new kids. What also really excited me was to cut that. To say that we are no longer the new kids. We're in the game with you.

Marie: What validated this legitimacy was the fact of having finally done it. That's what's interesting. We realize that we are legitimate because we did it.

Elise: Legitimacy comes through action. In any case, we do not have the legitimacy to do anything. We allow ourselves to have it. My last position was at Club Med , in revenue management . It was obvious. There, I fell into the real estate pot. I realized that when I talked about revenue management, I was already being tanked. When I started I'm posting Complete , some people told me I didn't even know how to write. Or that it was still a fad. I was upset as hell. I have 12 years of experience. When I started I'm posting Complete , I was tired of having to explain what revenue management is. Even if now it's a little more democratized. I was tired of being taken for a scammer. It hurt my feelings to imply that I was a scammer. This is where the YouTube . I said to myself: “It doesn’t matter, we’re going to give it our all.” We will explain. I'll tell you how it works. »

At the time, I was still manager of the revenue management team. I couldn't do the commercial part of the Seasonal Rental Meeting. I recruited salespeople, big mistake. It was a first. Some said it would be super hard to bring so many people together in such a short time. We didn't have a lot of brand signings until I said to myself: “Élise, it's now or never. Take the bull by the horns. » In one month, I signed 25 or 30 brands. We had 47 exhibitors on the big day. I hadn't realized the extent to which the people who were with us for this first edition placed their trust in me. We have a problem in entrepreneurship, we lack women. This support dedicated to women is counterproductive to achieving greater parity. We must show that women can be discriminated against in the world of work: by clothes, behavior, gender, gender orientation, sexual orientation, religion, origins, way of speaking, accent . You need a safe place . When I got into real estate, I realized that colleagues needed this methodology. Behind it, there were crazy projects. We do this to help with investment, to pay for children's education, to pay for retirement, to have a better life. It's very rare to want to earn a lot of money just for yourself. If you're only made for money, it's nothing at all. I have a real philosophy about that. It's a danger to indulge in that. When you do things, you shouldn't associate external things with your own value. If one day we were to have a liquidation sale at J'annonce Complet , I wouldn't be a less good person. I try to stay very flat .

Marie: Elise is in action and what people admire most about her is that she is not in the ego. She builds something she likes. I want to deconstruct the idea that entrepreneurs are only attracted by money. Often, videos have catchy titles but don't answer the question. I tweak the motivations of my guests. In my field, it's rare to actually show how you succeed. Podcasts are interesting because we can listen to people more or less advanced than us. We learn things. Élise is not pretending. She answers all the questions secretly. She doesn't sell dreams, she shows concretely how she succeeded. We really learn how to build a team, how to hire people, how to hire people, how to develop ourselves.

Good luck and thank you friends!
